Overview

Garmin Marine Mount for GPS and GPSMAP Devices

Introduction

The Garmin Marine Mount (model 010-11441-00) secures your Garmin GPS or GPSMAP device at the helm with precision engineering built for marine environments. Unlike loose handheld navigation, a properly mounted display keeps your hands free for boat control while maintaining clear visibility of course corrections and waypoints. This mount delivers the stability and accessibility boating requires when split-second navigation decisions matter on open water.

Key Features

  • Swivel and tilt functionality allows up to 360-degree rotation and multiple angle positions for viewing in any helm layout
  • Secure locking mechanism holds compatible devices firmly in place with no vibration or drift during rough water conditions
  • Quick-release design enables device removal in under 5 seconds without tools
  • Adhesive base mounting installs on dashboards, consoles, or windscreens without drilling or permanent modification
  • Compatible with Garmin GPS 12H, GPS 73, GPSMAP 78, GPSMAP 78s, and GPSMAP 78sc—verified fit for these specific models
  • Splash-proof construction withstands exposure to saltwater and freshwater environments with corrosion-resistant materials
  • Lightweight design at under 200 grams adds negligible weight to your vessel's electronics array

Data Insights

Users report a 30% increase in navigation efficiency when using a mounted display versus handheld operation. This measurable improvement stems from reduced head movement, faster route adjustments, and improved situational awareness. Mounted navigation also reduces cognitive load during high-traffic boating situations where attention divided between steering and handheld screens creates safety risks.

Usage Instructions

Clean and dry the mounting surface before applying the adhesive base to ensure maximum grip. Position the mount within arm's reach of your helm station. Insert your GPS device into the clamp arms and tighten the locking mechanism until snug—firm enough to resist movement but not so tight as to stress the device. Adjust the swivel and tilt to your preferred angle. For storage or device changes, activate the quick-release latch to detach without disassembling the base unit.

Design & Material

The mount combines a compact T-shaped profile with a broad suction-cup-style base that minimizes helm clutter while maximizing device visibility. The design prioritizes function over aesthetics, with reinforced clamping arms that accommodate slight device size variations within the Garmin GPS family.

  • High-impact engineering-grade polymer resists UV degradation and maintains flexibility in temperatures ranging from freezing to 50°C
  • Reinforced clamping arms grip devices securely without marring screens or casings
  • Ball-and-socket swivel joint rotates smoothly with detents for angle retention, supporting 360-degree positioning
  • Wide base platform distributes mounting pressure across larger surface areas to prevent adhesive failure on textured helms
  • All metal components use stainless steel or nickel-plated hardware to resist saltwater oxidation
  • Tool-free assembly takes approximately 3 minutes from unboxing to installation readiness

Final Verdict

If you navigate with a Garmin GPS or GPSMAP handheld, mounting it permanently transforms how you operate your boat. Better visibility, faster access, and safer helm control justify the investment immediately. The Garmin Marine Mount's combination of reliable device retention, simple installation, and marine-grade durability makes it essential equipment for anyone serious about efficient navigation. Add this mount to your boat today and keep your hands where they belong—on the helm.
